The Paradies Boxset (2021) forms the nucleus of Gewalt’s early output. Alongside the debut album Paradies, it brings together the tracks from the band’s early, now sold-out seven-inches — among them Szene einer Ehe, Tier, Wir sind sicher, Deutsch, Pawlow and So soll es sein — which appear here as the companion record Paradies II.

The accompanying book, Paradies: Gewalt, written by Patrick Wagner, offers a close reading of the band’s catalogue, punctuated by Fehmi Baumbach’s collage work. It concludes with an unannounced short story recalling Wagner’s time in East Berlin in the early 1990s.

The boxset brings together music, literature and visual art with unusual coherence.
Cover art is by Cameron Michel, design by Philip Staffa and book art by Fehmi Baumbach; the music is by Gewalt and released on Clouds Hill.

The first pressing of 1,000 sold out quickly; a second limited edition of 1,000 remains available — an essential item for devoted followers of the band.
